NOLA ASB 2022 - Day 3: Responsibility

​​While on the Alternative Spring Break trip with Hillel at Virginia Tech, we discussed what we are responsible for during one of our nightly reflections. For starters, I am responsible for working hard when volunteering, representing Virginia Tech, and getting beignets from Cafe Du Monde. However, through my time here in New Orleans, I have realized that my responsibility is also to learn about how these inequalities have been perpetuated through zoning, policy, and stereotypes. While I cannot fix these social issues by myself, I can rally around issues that those around me face and educate others about how we can help as a larger group. - Alex Coonin, Class of 2022
