NOLA ASB 2022 - Day 4: Giving Back

I live in Atlanta, Georgia, so I am not used to houses being destroyed except for the occasional power outage. Throughout my college career, I have not taken part in any community service as well as I hoped, and I am thrilled I took a week out to do just that. Even if it is not my community or one I’ll see again in the early future, putting in the work for just two houses this week has shown me that hundreds of people volunteer in New Orleans to help this city thrive from all the hurricanes through [Re]Building Together alone. Coming from someone about to go into the workforce soon, I am not able to relate to the veterans, seniors, and the disabled that much but I hope this helps them out in the future. - Gabe Press, Class of 2023
