The Shabbat services at the kibbutz was really nice to experience here in Israel. I don’t usually observe Shabbat at home or at college and it was really nice to embrace and truly understand what Shabbat really is. After the lunch Shabbat services, we walked to the fort by our kibbutz and walked out to a balcony where we could see so far. We could see the valleys and the rest of the city. That was really nice because it was so beautiful and really important to be to see out beyond my immediate surroundings. I feel that seeing further beyond what is around me helps keep me grounded.
