Summer '18 Birthright: Day 1

By: Jordan Axelrod

My day started at 6 AM est time, when I flew out of Dulles to JFK, from JFK to Zurich, Switzerland, and then finally to Israel. Our travel day lasted over 20 hours, but we finally made it to Tel Aviv around 2 PM. After waking up from my nap on the plane, where I was sprawled out over the whole row, I saw the coast of Israel for the first time. A wave of excitement rushed over me: WE FINALLY MADE IT! Then there was a sense of wonder of actually being in Israel, a bit like being home. We were exhausted! We played some ice breakers so we could get to know each other a bit better. I'm so excited to be here and can't wait for the adventure that is yet to come.
